The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) named Welsh Construction, Inc. 2019 South East Regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) in the Exterior Remodel category of its annual awards competition. Each year, NARI presents CotY awards to members who have demonstrated outstanding work through their remodeling projects. This is the highest form of recognition by industry leaders and peers.

The award-winning project included a one-story addition, three roof gable additions, and, all new windows, siding and doors. A screened in porch and expansive deck completed the renovation.

Welsh Construction, Inc. has provided remodeling and construction services in Rockbridge County for 25 years and has recently expanded to include parts of Staunton and Augusta County. Contractors from seven regions around the country vie for CotY Awards on an annual basis. Winners were recognized at NARI’s Evening of Excellence on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside, located in San Diego, California.

Competing projects were completed between July 1, 2017, and November 30, 2018, and were not submitted in previous NARI National contests. An impartial panel of judges, experts within the remodeling industry and associated fields, selected winners based on each entrant’s binders, which include “before and after” photography and project descriptions. Judging focused on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.

To be considered for a CotY Award, a company must be a NARI

member in good standing. The entries of this year’s competition totaled nearly $97 million worth of remodeling projects.
